About Us

About the Ensemble

A Belita Ensemble is a passionate group of pianists whose name, “Belita,” derives from the Spanish word for “little beauty.” We are dedicated to bringing the beauty of classical music to life. Our ensemble consists of talented pianists who share a love for performance and education. We aim to showcase the essence of piano duo music, highlighting the harmony, artistry, and elegance this unique form brings to the stage. Join us as we explore a variety of classical pieces and engage with our audience through music.

Cathy Cheon

Cathy Cheon is a passionate piano music lover. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the Catholic University of Korea and completed her professional performer’s courses at the State Specialised Institute of Arts in Moscow, Russia. Then, she participated in master classes in New York, USA, and Hanover, Germany. As a pianist, she has consistently performed in various ways, including solo, duo, and ensemble performances. She also served as an accompanist for the Bandi Children’s Choir and the G Harmony CEO Choir.

Since 2016, she has led the Beilta Ensemble for piano performers and held regular and special concerts yearly. She continues to expand her musical journey through various music activities, performing as a volunteer at Foothill Medical Center and teaching children as a piano teacher at MusicWorks Canada.

She aims to teach children more effectively through ongoing performance and music analysis and to help them enjoy music to their heart’s content through artistic rather than academic activities. To this end, she provides students with regular concerts and music appreciation opportunities. She also regularly holds classical music gatherings for adults so that music can become a joy in their lives, and she helps them continue with music without giving up.
